Decoy Wines are part of the Duckhorn Wine Company portfolio. The region’s king variety, Sauvignon blanc, is beloved for its pungent, aromatic character with notes of exotic tropical fruit, freshly cut grass and green bell pepper along with a refreshing streak of stony minerality. It is 100 Sauvignon Blanc, cold fermented and aged in stainless steel tank. At the northern tip of New Zealand’s South Island, the vineyards of Marlborough benefit from well-draining, stony soils, a dry, sunny climate and wide temperature fluctuations between day and night, a phenomenon that supports a perfect balance between berry ripeness and acidity. Despite some common generalizations, which could be fairly justified given that Marlborough is responsible for 90% of New Zealand's Sauvignon blanc production, the wines from this region are actually anything but homogenous. 2018 Duckhorn Napa Cabernet Sauvignon Half Bottle, 375 mL, United States.

Its flavors of plums plus subtle herbs and mint also dovetail nicely with Cabernet’s blackberry and cassis. They include a splash of Semillon, and a small percentage of the Sauvignon Blanc is barrel. An icon and leading region of New Zealand's distinctive style of Sauvignon blanc, Marlborough has a unique terroir, making it ideal for high quality grape production (of many varieties). Often described as the flesh on Cabernet’s bones, Merlot lends a soft, round and plush character that beautifully complements Cabernet’s linear, full-throttle structure. Sauvignon Blanc is one of the most well known, popular, and distinctive varieties. Duckhorn first began producing this Sauvignon Blanc in 1982.
